Get ps2 controller vibrator

Jump to bottom. Copy link Quote reply. I am using a Playstation 2 Dual Shock controller with XCE, and during the process of learning how to make vibration work, I found the following things that could be improved in XCE: The real Xbox controller has two motors strong and weak. Most 3rd party controllers only have 1 motor. The problem with that? Most games use the WEAK motor for general rumble. I am vibrator and it still get me hours to figure that out, when I suddenly thought controller if Controller just uses the weak motor?

So there needs to be a description somewhere, suggesting that people try "swap motor" if vibration isn't working in their game. Perhaps default the weak motor as vibrator primary one if a controller has a single motor So that most general vibration will work out of the ps2. Perhaps code a get feature which "merge motors", which maps the two Xbox motors to a single motor.

With configurable crossover Points. This would be great, because right now, I get general vibration via the weak motor "swap" remapping I did. But huge crashes give no effect at all since the strong motor is now the "missing" one instead. Merging the two motor mappings to a single motor would ps2 that.

When "Swap Motors" is enabled, the two different test sliders switch functionality, so now right test slider "weak motor" tests the single motor in my PS2 controller.

But the GUI strength sliders stay the same. So I have to run the test with the right slider and adjust its strength with the left slider. No joystick data, pressure or vibration control capabilities. This listing is based on information from both that has been tested. The controller can be configured through command 0x4F to respond with more or less information about each button with each poll.

This can poll the controller like 0x42, but if the first command byte is 1, it has the effect of entering config mode 0xF3in which the packet response can be configured. If the current mode is 0x41, this command only needs to be 5 bytes long.

This command is always issued twice in a row, and appears to be retrieving a 10 byte constant of over those two calls. It is always called in a sequence of 0x46 0x46 0x47 0x4C 0x4C. Only works after the controller is in config mode 0xF3. It is always called in a command sequence of 0x46 0x46 0x47 0x4C 0x4C. This could set up the controller to only reply with the L1 and R1 pressures for instance.

The following sequence will setup a controller to send back all available analog values, and also map the left and right motors to command bytes 4 and 5. Includes guitar hero, dual shock, wire less katana and chinese knock-off looks the same as the dual shock.

I managed to disassemble the controller. Snipped the wires for the rumble devices and pulled em out. No longer loses connection! Saved money! Obviously you already did this, but I believe you should be able to just unseat the connection rather than cut any wires, leaving the rumbles functional for the future if you wanted to reverse the change.

It's been years since I disassembled a Xxx ashley fires controller though. F0cu5 posted Thing is my controller is a third-party.

The PCB is facing the front side of the controller and you'd vibrator to pull everything out. Ps2 knows how many buttons would fall out if I tried that. Well, your opening posts sure didn't give the impression controller "not caring about vibration" to me! Ya should have precised if ya didn't want me giving out any advice in the first place.
